Extension from Iceland - trip of in Iceland, Greenland

Between icebergs and glaciers

As an extension from Iceland, we propose a five-day program during which, we will sail among icebergs, fly over the fjords in helicopter and live the experience of spending a night in a glacier camp in Qaleraliq, one of the most beautiful areas of southern Greenland surrounded by ice and glaciers.

Itinerario

Day 1: Flight to Reykjavik – Narsarsuaq – Narsaq
Flight from Iceland to Narsarsuaq. Upon arrival, briefing and transfer by motor boat through the Tunulliarfik fjord to Narsaq. Narsaq is the third most important city in Greenland, with a population of 1,500 inhabitants, the waters that surround it are the habitat of salmon and seals, although it is also easy to spot humpback whales. We made a guided tour of the city. Night in hotel

Day 2: Glacial camp of Qaleraliga, glacier fronts and ice excursion
From Narsaq, we sail to the glacier camp of Qaleraliq, located next to three glacial fronts and with a privileged view of the Inlandis or ice cap. Approach to the glacier fronts in large and fast zodiacs, which we travel during its more than 10 kilometers of fall to the sea, admiring its vertical walls, numerous icebergs and walls of ice. We will approach to a side of the glacier front, and from here we start the march on the ice. We spend the night in the camp, enjoying the roar and the spectacle of seracs detaching from the imposing glaciers. A magical place to experience the wild nature of Greenland in its purest form

Day 3: Narsaq Helicopter - Narsarsuaq / Visit of the Kiattut Glacier
After breakfast in an almost lunar spot with direct views of the glaciers, we made a short exploration of the surroundings of the camp just before returning to Narsaq. We sailed through the fjords and enjoyed the landscape of a maze of islands and peninsulas. Helicopter flight from Narsaq to Narsarsuaq: impressive flight over the fjord system of southern Greenland. A truly unforgettable experience to enjoy the fascinating composition of the fjords and the fantastic view over the Inlandis

Day 4: Qassiarsuq, Ruins of Eric the Red and Tasiusaq The Bay of the Icebergs
Transfer by motor boat through the Tunulliarfik fjord (Eriksfjord), usually covered in icebergs, to Qassiarsuk. Visit the ruins of the church and settlement of Eric the Red, which make up the old Brattahlid, the capital of the Viking Greenland, and the place where Eric the Red settled in the year 985 at the beginning of the colonization of the barbarian peoples. Walk through the village, inhabited by some 50 people, mostly farmers

Day 5: Valley and Glacier of the Thousand Flowers / Flight Narsarsuaq - Reykjavik
We dedicate the last day to one of the most famous trekking in southern Greenland: the Valley of the Thousand Flowers. It is a spectacular walk with views of the river and the Kiattut glacier. On our way back to Narsarsuaq, we will have free time to visit the local Blue West Museum that reflects the history of the creation of the town since the past times, especially its role in the Second World War. Info - Paises

Land of elves and fairies, Iceland surprise us with memorable landscapes of lava fields, volcanoes, waterfalls and cliffs.

The largest island in the world, 85% of its territory covered by ice. It is not surprising that it is known as the island of the blue sky; the reflection of the icebergs of light predominates everywhere.
