From Sumatra to Komodo - trip of in Indonesia

The deepest jungles and the wildest beaches

SUMATRA, BALI, NUSA PENIDA AND KOMODO. This program is an ambitious proposal for lovers of nature in its purest state, ready to venture into the most remote areas of the jungles of Sumatra. On the backs of elephants, we follow the trail of the tigers and visit the tribes that live at the foot of the largest volcano on the planet. We sailed through the Komodo National Park and slept in front of the island of Flying Fox for the evening to live the incredible spectacle of thousands of giant bats flying over our boat. In Nusa Penida, we share marine space with one of the largest world concentrations of blankets, plus dolphins and beautiful coral reefs. Only for true nature lovers.

Itinerario

Day 1: Flight to Jakarta
Overnight on board.

Day 2: Jakarta
Upon arrival at the Jakarta airport, meet and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day off.

Day 3: Jakarta - Medan - Tangkhan
After breakfast, transfer to airport to flight to Medan. Upon arrival, transfer to Tangkhan trough Binjai and Tanjung Pura. The route runs between large plantations of palm oil producing palm trees. Arrival at Tangkhan located inside the National Park of Leuser. During the journey we observe groups of elephants approaching the river to cool off and the overwhelming calls of large male orangutans.

Day 4: Tankaham - Trekking y tubing rafting
We start the march inside the jungle (3h) following the tracks of the tiger and the wild elephants. Lunch in the jungle. We bathed in the thermal waters of the Batam River and we returned descending by the river in tubing, letting ourselves be carried by the current, allowing us to observe the rainforest from the interior of the river.

Day 5: Elephant safari-river safari-Tangakahan-Berastagi
After breakfast, we go to the elephant camp that, together with the rangers, watch the park. On the backs of the elephants, we will share their daily journey across the Tatam River, while observing the abundant fauna. Then we move to Berastagui, picturesque mountain town and colorful market.

Day 6: Berastagi - Samosir - Lago Toba
Route to the lake, on the way we stopped at the fabulous Sipisopiso waterfalls. We arrive at Prapat where we embark to the island of Samosir, located inside the crater of the Toba volcano, considered the largest on the planet.

Day 7: Lake Toba
Samosir-Tomok, Ambarita and Simanindo. During this day we visit the Batak villages located on the shores of the lake.

Day 8: Samosir - Medan - Jakarta - Bali
After breakfast, transfer overland to Medan, through the road that runs through the jungle and between large rubber plantations and palm trees. Flight to Bali.

Day 9: Bali-Flores-Komodo PN-Rinca-Flying Fox Island
Flight to the island of Flores and start navigation through the Komodo National Park by traditional Indonesian wooden boat. We stopped at some of the virgin beaches of the archipelago for snorkeling. We visited the villages of Rinca or Mesa, subject to weather conditions. Night on board in front of the island of Flying Fox, where every night, thousands of giant bats come out in search of food. Docked in front of the island, we admire the flight of these mammals over our heads. Meals are also made on board.

Day 10: Flying Fox island-Rinca-sland of Kanawa-Labuanbajo
We continue sailing through the Komodo National Park. Visiting the island of Rinca and the Komodo dragons. Accompanied by the park rangers, we will choose the route that best suits our physical form. We continue our navigation through small and paradisiac islands where we will have the opportunity to observe the rich marine ecosystem. Diving possibility during this navigation day. At the last minute we landed at Labuanbajo and headed to the hotel.

Day 11: Labuanbajo - Bali - Nusa Penida
Flight to Bali where we'll embark to Nusa Penida Island. Upon arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 12: Nusa Penida - Bali
On board our boat, we enter the waters that surround the island stopping at wild beaches only accessible by sea. We dive into its crystal clear waters, rich in species of tropical fish, dolphins and giant blankets. Nusa Penida has two cleaning stations for blankets, which they go to daily for deworming and feeding, producing high concentrations of this species that can measure up to 8.5m. In the afternoon we move to Bali.

Day 13: Bali
Free day to stay at the beach or optional activities.

Day 15: Bali
Free day to stay at the beach or optional activities.

Day 16: Bali - Jakarta
Transfer to Jakarta airport to take the international flight back.
